For a big part of my life, I spent a great deal trying to mold myself into what I thought the world wanted me to be. I looked outside myself and took my direction from my parents, my family, my peers and even from celebrities on TV. I compared myself to what others did, wanted, said and believed and I tried to fit in. Meanwhile I lost sight of who I was and what I wanted for myself.
I was hard working and became very successful in my career. I married a wonderful man and we had a great marriage, created a beautiful home and build many friendships. But deep inside, I felt dissatisfied with my career as well as with my personal life. I remember being so frustrated, thinking that I had so much to be thankful for, and I could not understand why I was not happy.
There are so many adults, like me, who are unhappy and unfulfilled. I would like to say it is because they live their lives based on outside influences. They have molded their relationships and careers based on what they learned from their family, culture and from Television, and they find themselves lost, wondering what is missing in their lives, why they are not happy.
So many search for the purpose in their lives, wondering what they are meant to do here. Their days have become routine and often treacherous, filled with tasks they no longer enjoy.
Why do you strive to be like everyone else? You are unique, each person on this whole planet is one of a kind. Just like there is no one snowflake the same as another, there is no other human being exactly like you. Why not embrace that, rather then to hide it and try to be something you are not?
Think for a moment of something you truly love to do. When you do this activity, you are happy. You do it with all your might, and you may even forget how much time has past. When you live according to your true nature, your whole life is like that!
Meditation can connect you with your true nature. In Meditation, you practice to be non-judgmental and you learn to be kind to yourself. These two attributes help you allow yourself to look at your dreams and desires completely honest and uninhibited. This can bring to the forefront what you truly want in your life, if you allow it. Once you are clear on what you want, you can use visualization to bring your attention and focus to your dream. See yourself living the exact thing, you want for yourself. Feel the joyful and happy emotions. Doing this on a regular basis will help your mind "belief" it can happen. And when your belief changes, your whole life will change.
